LACMA Fridays

Did you know that admission to the LACMA is free for Los Angeles County residents every weekday after 3pm? And that every Friday there’s live jazz music in the grand entrance?

My buddy Jared and I took advantage of this the other day and wondered why we never had before. It’s a great way to spend a Friday afternoon!

I admit I’m an art ignoramus and I tire of museums quickly, but I could appreciate an hour or so of meandering the galleries – especially when I get to sit outside and enjoy live music afterwards! Here’s a little taste of what you can find at the LACMA right now:

Michael Heizer’s Levitated Mass

Embroidered Mappa by Alighiero Boetti

Robert Therrien’s No Title (Black Beds)

A little Monet, a little Picasso.
(Nympheas, Bust of a Woman (Dora Maar) & Head of a Woman (Jacqueline), respectively)

Saint Michael Casting Satan into Hell by Francesco Picano

The Nick Mancini Collective playing in front of the famed LACMA lamps.

My only regret was not bringing a picnic blanket and a bottle of wine.

Refreshing, relaxing, outdoor fun!
