My sister Vy produced a dance show at the Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival last weekend. This was her fourth year organizing the show, and it’s the first time I got to see it. She herself even took the stage to perform a dance piece with her girlfriends (pictured left to right: Reese, Maren, Chelsea, Cobey, Vy and Jazz).
I’ve seen these girls dance many many times with various hip-hop crews over the last decade or so, and they usually thug it out with hardcore ghetto pieces. (Seriously, these sweet girls can get downright gangsta. They scare me sometimes, haha.) Anyway, they opted for pin-up cute and girly for this particular show, and it was refreshingly adorable.
Vy’s always saying she’s past her prime in the dance world, but I think she and the girls still got it. Great job ladies! xoxo
