Go Dodgers

Farewell For Now, Dodgers

I realize this isn’t a sports blog, and the extent of my sports talk on here has been limited to how much I suck at dodgeball.

But I love, love, LOVE the good old-fashioned American tradition of going to a baseball game. Every time I go to a Dodger game and find myself screaming, “LET’S GO DODGERS!” I ask myself, “Why don’t I do this more often?!” But in reality, I’ve attended a LOT of games over the years and cheered on my beloved Doyers from just about every angle of the stadium.

I attended this season’s opening day with amaaazing field level seats just behind the home dugout (seriously, they were amazing – thanks Max!). Twice this season, my buddy Jared and I attended Friday home games which ended with a fireworks show over the stadium (awesome!). I’ve also indulged in the all-you-can-eat pavilion; I’ve sat in the cheap seats; and in years past, I’ve had the privilege of watching many a game from the luxury club suites (courtesy of my fab WB peeps).

No matter where I’m sitting, I always have a blast at Dodger games. Overpriced beers, sub-par hotdogs…bring em on.

‘Twas a sad day yesterday, however, as I sat in the stands and watched the Dodgers lose their last chance at the playoffs. Forty thousand of my fellow fans and I were on our feet, going effing craaazy when we stole second base at the bottom of the 9th, only to have our playoff dreams crushed just moments later. You could feel the disappointment sweep through the stadium (not to mention, the resounding frustration with Mark Ellis’ foolish attempt to stretch that double into a triple in the 7th – doh!). It was heartbreaking.

I guess we’ll see you next year, Dodgers! I’m pretty sure this hardcore fan in the seat in front of me last night will be back too. Check out this tattoo!
